About Regenerative Rice
Astungkara Way is dedicated to supporting Balinese rice farmers in their transition to regenerative farming. By restoring paddy ecosystems, improving farmer livelihoods and collecting vast amounts of economic, social and environmental impact data, we’re building a new and more viable business model around rice farming – ensuring a bright future ahead for rice in Bali. Our regenerative rice sales program links the efforts of over 200 local farmers with buyers in Bali who value sustainability, cultural preservation, and premium-quality products.
Role Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate new team member to lead sales efforts of our Regenerative Rice, primarily targeting hotels and restaurants that require large quantities of sustainably grown rice. This role combines sales expertise with a commitment to supporting our mission of ecosystem restoration and farmer empowerment.
You will be engaging with new customers but also building on existing relationships with our existing customers – over 20 of them including the biggest names in Bali such as Potato Head, Conrad Bali, Hyatt Regency, etc.
Key Responsibilities
In close collaboration with our Farming team and our Regenerative Rice production team, you will be responsible for:
1. Sales & Business Development:
- Build and maintain relationships with hotels, restaurants, and other large-scale buyers.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities in the hospitality and foodservice sectors.
2. Client Engagement & Education:
- Educate clients about the benefits of regenerative rice, emphasizing its impact on sustainability and community livelihoods.
- Provide exceptional customer service to ensure long-term partnerships.
3. Collaboration & Coordination:
- Work closely with the Farming and Production teams to ensure the consistent supply of rice to customers and share feedback and potential new requests from customers.
- Coordinate with the Marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns targeting hospitality and foodservice industries.
4. Reporting & Feedback:
- Maintain accurate sales records and provide regular updates to the teams you work with.
- Gather feedback from clients to inform product and service improvements.
Qualifications
- Existing experience in sales, or account management, ideally in the hospitality, food, or agriculture sectors.
- Strong passion for sustainability, regenerative agriculture, and community development.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative while being a team player.
- Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Familiarity with Balinese culture and the hospitality industry in Bali is highly desirable.
- Autonomy, curiosity and thinking outside of the box are key to the success of this job position.
- Astungkara Way is only just starting its sales strategy through partners, so suggesting and testing ideas with an analytical approach will be important.
