Education is the foundation of any thriving society. Yet, for many children in Indonesia, accessing quality education is hindered by inadequate school infrastructure. A groundbreaking partnership between CMA CGM Foundation<\/a> and Happy Hearts Indonesia (HHI)<\/a> is addressing this challenge head-on. Through their renovation efforts in Surabaya, two schools are being transformed, looking to benefit 780 students and their surrounding communities.<\/b><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIn 2020, 24% of classrooms across primary and secondary schools were classified as being in poor condition, with many requiring urgent repairs. Beyond physical structures, sanitation also remains a major concern – only 68% of schools had access to clean, functional toilets as of 2021. A tornado in 2020 left classrooms and the library severely damaged, with leaking roofs, broken furniture, and unsafe floors.
